Canada Is the Second Largest Franchise Market

  • The start up capital needed to open a Fantastic Sam's franchise is accessible to many investors. We look for franchisees with a minimum net worth of $500,000 CAD and at least $100,000 CAD in liquid capital. Additional financing can be obtained through various financial and lending institutions of your choice.

New franchisees can choose to start with a single salon or take advantage of Fantastic Sams multi-unit incentives by entering into a 2-pack, 3-pack, 4-pack, or 5-pack agreement.

Fantastic Sams Start Up Costs Are Accessible

  • Although many franchisees start their Fantastic Sam's franchise with just a single unit, most of our salons are operated by multi unit franchise owners. That’s because Fantastic Sam's operates in an industry with long term economic stability, and we strive to make it easier for investors to own multiple units through financial incentives (2-packs, 3-packs, 4-packs or 5-packs) as well as our relationships with solid banking and financial institutions.

We also offer qualified persons the right to enter into a multi unit development agreement for Fantastic Sam's franchises. The total investment necessary to begin operation of a multi unit development business is between $40,000 CAD and $125,000 CAD (for a multi unit deal). This entire amount must be paid to the franchisor.

Most Franchisees Are Multi Unit Owners

  • Convenience is the most important factor in any of our salon locations. Fantastic Sam's hair salons work best in shopping areas anchored by high-frequency retailers such as big-box retail or grocery stores, places where families are likely to go shopping two to four times a week. Look for spaces with free parking.

Our support team helps franchisees pinpoint the ideal locations to start new salons,  reviewing and rating site selections and calling on our existing relationships with commercial brokers. The salon needs to be large enough to accommodate eight chairs, as well as shampoo stations, a front desk and a storage area for products. This typically amounts to 1,000 to 1,400 square feet.

If you can find retail space that is visible to about 20,000 cars a day, in an easily accessible area near or in the midst of a densely populated neighborhood, you’ll start strong. LaRonda Hunter owns four salons in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including one that’s in the Fantastic Sam's Top 50. She says she can attribute some of that success to the location of her salon in Saginaw, a suburb of Fort Worth.

“I knew I’d need help in learning the ropes,” Hunter says. “I wanted access to people who could teach me. Fantastic Sam's has certainly done that for me. Of course, your location can make a big difference. My Top 50 salon is in a great location with a lot of foot traffic.”

    Convenience Is Key
